Young Harry Bolton made his mark in senior rugby after only a handful of games, beating his older brother Justin's record of three ties in a senior game this year.

Tenby entertained Haverfordwest Seconds on a glorious Saturday afternoon, with a large crowd cheering on the red and blacks.

Sadly, after only five minutes of play, a serious injury to a Haverfordwest player halted proceedings for 20 minutes. The players and staff of Tenby United wish the player concerned a speedy recovery.

Play was resumed and Neil Duffy opened the scoring, quickly followed by Mark Brace and James Davies, leaving the half-time score 17-5 to Tenby.

With the Tenby forwards gaining the upper hand, Penfold gave a stern half-time team talk to up their work rate, and as soon as the second-half started, outside-half Steve Williams missed out James Davies and Calvert and passed straight out to Harry Bolton who waltzed under the posts.

Tenby's tails were now up, with John Hallett, Mark Brace, James Caine and the evergreen Chris Brice always making yards into Haverfordwest territory, with a few players catching the eye.

A lineout on halfway saw Penfold throw into James Caine, who was assisted by Simon Morgan, Jeremy Rossiter and 'Clr. Evans', who ripped the ball back for Neil Duffy to score.

Bolton then added another two tries to cap an excellent performance.

Neil Duffy also scored another, along with James Caine, who had an excellent game to make it 46-5.

Haverfordwest then hit back with an excellent try.

Niffy wanted 50 points on the board, but the visitors had other ideas, with big Potts from Haverfordwest making inroads deep into Tenby territory.

Steve Williams produced a brave tackle under the posts, however, before finding Bolton, who ran the length of the field -closely followed (50 yards behind!) by Chris Brice - making the final score 51-10, with the Seasiders scoring nine tries in the process.

Skipper Michael Lewis and Nicky Rees want to congratulate the players (and supporters) on their efforts leading up to what was a difficult game.

With a squad of 24 to select from, and 21 training last Thursday, the Seconds next week welcome back Daniel Shooter, Scott McLaughlin, Gavin Scotcher, Dylan and Ryan Lawrence, Gavin Nicholas, Gareth Edwards and Paul Bevan, which will create a dilemma any coach would like to be facing.

The Second team this year is a credit to the United, with over 30 boys competing for places. They have two league games left and a big semi-final clash against Milford Haven to come (see report bottom right).
