Having experienced the enormous power of the sea over the last few months, Pembrokeshire South East Energy Group's March meeting will be seeing how this energy can be captured to create electricity.

Joanna Lane from Tidal Lagoon Power will be introducing members to the proposed scheme in Swansea Bay - as seen on the BBC News.

As the Severn Estuary has the second highest tidal range in the world, it offers enormous potential for the extraction of renewable energy by constructing a lagoon to collect, hold and release water to generate power over 14 hours each day.

This is an innovative and exciting way of producing renewable energy, not just for 25 to 40 years, but for the next 120 years.

At a time when climate change needs us to look at all options for diversifing from fossil fuels, a new player is extremely welcome.

The meeting will take place at the New Regency Hall in Saundersfoot on Thursday at 7 pm.

All members of the public are warmly invited to go along - whether local or visitors to the area.

There is no charge, with a chance to chat over tea/coffee and biscuits.
