It was a bitter disappointment to find the Park and Ride bus did not operate from Tenby’s Butts Field car park this summer. I had been so looking forward to being able to get down to the harbour and Castle sands where I had not been since last summer when the little bus transported me to this lovely area; now an area which disabled visitors will only be able to view from a distance.

The couple of disabled parking bays in the vicinity are rarely vacant even out of season.

Now that I am arthritic, many of the lovely parts of Tenby are out of bounds. There must be many other locals who do not dream of jetting off to exotic holiday locations, but long to wander round the harbour area and perhaps sit in the Dennis Café with a cup of tea and enjoy a grandstand view over Castle Beach, bringing back memories of childhood times spent on the magical sands.

But, sadly, such a pleasure was not available this summer.
