PCSO Mandy Goodland from Tenby Neighbourhood Policing Team attended Tenby Cubs last week and gave a presentation on Halloween safety.

Halloween is derived from an ancient Celtic festival, marking the end of the agricultural year and the beginning of winter.

Advice was given to be responsible and safety tips to enjoy a safe and happy Halloween.

PCSO Goodland said that Halloween was a cherished tradition, but the excitement of the night could cause young people to forget to be careful.

• Stay visible - keep to well lit areas.

• Wear reflective strips on dark clothes and carry a torch.

• Never go alone - go together in small groups and don't wander off!

• Walk, don't run, from house to house. No accidents please.

• Walk on pavements not the road.

• Beware of cars and road safety.

• Remember not everyone wants to join in the festivities,

• Respect those who don't

"Remember, keep you tricks within the law. Anything resulting in damage is an offence, so think before yoiu act!" stressed PCSO Goodland.
