Local business woman, Karen Murray, pictured here with her two children, completed the Cardiff half-marathon recently in order to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care Cymru. The race took place on Sunday, October 19, and Karen was one of nearly 8,000 runners!
Said Karen: "It was a fantastic day, and I enjoyed every minute of it! My aim is to raise money for this remarkable organisation because it works tirelessly for the men and women of Wales.
"This charity not only provides vital information and support, but it also co-ordinates prevention programmes, raising awareness throughout Wales of this illness and its associated conditions.
"I am extremely proud to be connected with Breast Cancer Care Cymru, and plan to take part in this race again, next year!"
Lisa Gilmour, area fund-raising manager for Breast Cancer Care Cymru, said: "I was at the Cardiff half-marathon and cheered on our many runners.
"I always find the experience really moving as runners like Karen, really do put so much of themselves into it. I have nothing but admiration for her and all the runners, and significantly, they raise so much valuable money for us.
"I would invite everyone and anyone to take up this challenge for us, so we can continue to help people affected with breast cancer when they need it most."
