Pembrokeshire Greenways has joined up with local Cyclist's Touring Club 'Pembrokeshire Freewheelers' to offer guided family cycle rides around the county throughout the summer.
The series of guided rides provide the ideal opportunity to discover the many routes suitable for family cycling in Pembrokeshire. Rides take place on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings and are fee - just turn up and join in!
Each ride will be led by an experienced cycle guide, who is a member of 'Pembrokeshire Freewheelers', affiliated to the Swansea DA of the Cyclists Touring Club. All the rides have been designed to provide families with a pleasant cycling experience along quiet country lanes, traffic-free cycle routes and many include the odd hill or two.
The next guided family bike ride, Manorbier Meander,' takes place on Sunday, May 19, starting at 10 am on the Commons car park, Pembroke (opposite the Tourist Information Centre). The ride leader is Barrie Payne, who will lead a two to three hour ride to the pretty village of Manorbier, following the 'Celtic Trail,' National Cycle Network Route 4.
The Pembrokeshire Freewheelers also offers club rides for cyclists who are looking for longer rides. For further information, contact the club secretary on (01437) 721661 or rides secretary on (01437) 710606.
