Sir,
After reading the Carmarthen news, I have come to the conclusion that Carmarthenshire County Council is only interested in Llanelli. Do they know where Whitland is? Do they want to know?
As an ex-community councillor, I feel great concern for Whitland. We are a forgotten town.
What is happening about the old creamery? I call it old as it is 20 years since it was demolished. Promises were made, plans were drawn up (quite an expense) and passed. I would have thought 20 years is long enough to get some of the jobs done. All this and nothing has been done about making the plans a reality.
Our primary school also has had its ups and downs. Dates change etc. It’s this situation one of those today, tomorrow never. As a community, are we to easy to accept nothing?
We have a growing population. What are you doing to help us keep our young people here instead of going elsewhere to live?
Our town needs your input. We need your help.
A disgruntled resident of Whitland. I live in hope, but is hope enough?
Val Phillips,
Whitland.
