Sir,
My husband and I would like to thank all those who stopped to help us when I fell by the Salterns on Wednesday evening, August 15; one man had a wife called Bernice, and the young man who turned and came back to offer us a lift to the hospital.
We owe a big 'thank you', too, to the staff at Tenby Hospital. They took such great care of me, working well past the time when the unit should be closed, looking after me and others who were waiting.
How can the powers that be justify closing this facility? We are living in an area with varied needs, tourists, young families and a large elderly population. I appeal to everyone to make your voices heard, you never know when you or your family may be in urgent need of this service.
We owe it, too, to those who fought so long and hard to retain our hospital.
God bless you all.
Burney and Bill Russell,
Tenby.
