May I through your pages say thank you to friends, family, colleagues and customers who recently sponsored me for the 'Welsh 3000's'. I would also like to say thank you to T. P. Hughes, Belgrave Hotel, N. D. Toy and Partners and Rotary Club of Tenby.

I am delighted to say that after matched funding from my employers, Santander UK, the final amount I have submitted to Marie Curie Cancer Care is £1,620. This will buy 81 hours of valuable nursing care.

I would also like to say a big thank you to my daughter Lowri for the letter she recently had published in your paper; I believe it was the cause of a tear or two. However, it is important to realise that I am very fortunate in that I am fit and healthy. I choose to do what I do, it's optional. For everyone who wakes up in the morning with Alzheimers or Cancer, or other such illnesses, there isn't a choice; I am sure that if there was, they would be living very different lives.
