Sir,
May we through your publication, express our gratitude and admiration for the 'Pembrokeshire Pelotons' on their wonderful fund-raising event and including us, the South Pembrokeshire Travel Fund for Sick Children, as one of the recipients.
We are a very small local organisation and have been working quietly helping parents with travelling expenses when they have seriously ill children needing specialised treatment. The latter means travelling to hospitals in Swansea, Cardiff and as far afield as Bristol, Birmingham and London. This year we passed the 100,000 miles of funded travel costs, of which we are very proud.
The money involved has been raised purely by fund-raising and the support of many local organisations aware of our work, and we also express our sincere thanks to all of them.
Over the past year we have received donations from the St. Mary's Hand Bell Ringers, the Evergreen Nomads, Saundersfoot Inner Wheel, SI Tenby and District, Kilgetty Buffs, Looking Good Opticians and also private donations. All that generous help has assisted us in continuing with our work.
On September 8, we are holding a Celtic Evening at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, and hope that even more local people will become aware of us and join in the fun.
Chairman and members of the Travel Fund Committee.
