Memory can be a wonderful thing to those who possess one. Selective memory can be good, in that there are some things we probably all need to forget. There are those who endeavour to re-write history, to present a different slant or opinion. There are memories that we need to keep to learn the mistakes of yesterday and guard for the future. Paul Dando, the lead pastor of Grace Church, told of how his daughter keeps her mobile 'phone attached to her house keys, so that she can telephone them when lost. He majored on a letter sent to a young pastor, by the name of Timothy, the instructions included to 'remember Jesus Christ, offspring of David, risen from the dead, and this is our good news.' A story is told of three sisters, who were all absent- minded. Mary was undressing for the bath, when she stopped and asked herself 'am I getting into the bath or getting out?' Calling out for help to her sister Melanie, when she began to climb the stairs she stopped and asked 'am I going up, or do I need to go down?' Crying out to Mildred for help, Mildred was so pleased that she was not like her other sisters, that she knocked on wood. Hearing the knocking, she then asked herself 'is that somebody at the door?' Remembering Jesus Christ, is not a passive thing, but an active every day reality. It must be of first importance. This for everybody is good news for today. Grace are an all age, evangelical, charismatic church that meet every Sunday in the Queen's Hall at 10.30 am. Coffee is served from 10 am. You are most welcome.
