Newly-elected Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society president Richard Cole recently kicked-off his charity fundraising year with a quiz evening at The Pavilion.
Hard work by Richard and Ann, with lady ambassador, Yasmin Bevan-Rees, ensured that over 20 teams enjoyed a great evening raising vital funds for Richard’s chosen charity, The UK Sepsis Trust.
Under the redoubtable control of quizmaster (and past president) Dennis Reed, 10 rounds of brain teasers and memory tests found the teams delving into the far reaches of their recall, with Dennis’s wit and humour ensuring the room was full of laughter.
The victorious winners were the South Pembs Has Beens, led by local solicitor Helen Hodges. They very kindly donated their £100 first prize to Richard’s chosen charity.
Together with an extremely successful raffle, funds exceeding £500 were raised.
Richard and Ann are really grateful for the support from everyone, especially Show office staff (who also entered a team themselves) in setting up and running the evening.
