Former Mayor of Narberth, Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees, has been congratulated on being a 'good ambassador' for the town during a recent visit overseas.

As recently reported by the Observer, Clr. Mrs. Rees and her husband John visited Narberth, Pennsylvania, fulfilling Clr. Mrs. Rees's long-held goal of seeing her town's namesake in the USA.

Giving a presentation about the visit to her council colleagues on Tuesday evening, Clr. Mrs. Rees said she had received a 'fantastic welcome'.

"The community there is so similar to here, it is unbelievable," she said.

Clr. Mrs. Rees said she felt like Father Christmas distributing gifts and greetings sent by groups and organisations from home to reciprocal bodies.

"I know a lot of groups are now getting together and I am keen to look into the possibility of us twinning," she added.

Clr. Mrs. Val Bradley congratulated Clr. Mrs. Rees on being 'such a good ambassador for Narberth'.
