A couple who have been visiting Tenby for over 45 years marked a special occasion over the weekend by returning to the seaside resort with a special message marked out for them on the golden sands of the North Beach.
David and Caroline Wynne from Nottingham celebrated 50 years of marriage last weekend by visiting Tenby - with their family including daughter Lorraine and son Richard organising a special set of events to mark the occasion, including a wedding vow renewal at the town’s St Mary’s Church.
Staying at the Imperial Hotel, the couple were also given a spin in a specially arranged pick-up in an Aston Martin, before sand art specialist Marc Treanor created a memorable message on the North Beach wishing the pair all the best in their ‘golden years’ from their family.
“Mum and dad wanted to spend their 50 years of marriage in Tenby in a hotel, and I would like to not only wish my amazing parents a happy golden anniversary but to thank publicly everyone that was involved in their special day, and also Tenby friends for joining us and sharing this occasion that mum and dad will remember forever,” said daughter Lorraine.
“We stayed at the imperial hotel - it was amazing and the food was fantastic and honestly they couldn’t do enough for us as we held the buffet there after.
“Then two amazing gentlemen from round the area picked them up in their Aston Martin at the hotel and took them for a spin before taking them to beautiful St. Mary’s Church.
“We had organised a surprise vow renewal and can’t thank them enough for letting us decorate the church and the wonderful reverend for the lovely service,” she added.
