Yesterday (Thursday) saw the official opening of a glass quilt at Narberth CP School. The painted and fused glass quilt was made by 180 pupils aged eight to 11 working with artist, Linda Norris during a recent artist's residency at the school. The design, adapted from a traditional Pembrokeshire quilt, is on the theme of 'Food and Farming.' The quilt is a permanent artwork sited on the front wall of the school, and serves as a testament to the creativity of the children and their ability to work with an artist to bring together their individual ideas and styles to create a stunning artwork for their school. Linda Norris is an artist from Maenclochog who works in fused, painted and stained glass and who has extensive experience of working with children in the community. "This has been a wonderful experience for the pupils which they have thoroughly enjoyed. They were all very proud when they saw their finished artwork on the school wall!" said Mrs. E. Davies, head teacher. "It was great fun and we were creative," added Morgan, aged 10.
