Sir,
Could someone please tell me why Pembrokeshire County Council have been cutting the grass verges and banks on the A 477 between Kilgetty and Pembroke Dock.
The wildlife that lives in these areas such as field mice, slow worms and possibly birds still have young at this time of year and this action could cause untold harm to come to them.
The grass is not doing any harm and is certainly not a danger to anyone driving.
There have recently been two machines and seven men performing these tasks and surely, if it had to be done, could have waited a few more weeks for the young to leave their nests.
It is bad enough that untold sums of money are being spent providing cycle paths which are rarely used whilst the potholes on the main road get progressively worse.
Why not give a bit more thought to the wildlife in our area and provide safer roads before a serious accident takes place.
Mackie Brace,
Cross Park,
