Pembrokeshire's girls footballing champs have been rewarded for their success on the pitch. The Girls Under 14 team won the prestigious Ian Rush International Football Tournament in Aberystwyth earlier this summer. They were treated by Sport Pembrokeshire (the sports development arm of Pembrokeshire County Council) to free tickets - courtesy of the Football Association of Wales -- to the Charity Shield match between Liverpool and Chelsea at the Millennium Stadium. The girls are pictured in Cardiff before the match last weekend. They are: Ellie Robinson, Molly Furnival-Doran, Angharad Jenkins, Nia Thomas, Anna Doble, Jess Watts, Darcy Escott, Ffion Ashman and Angharad James, along with assistant coach, Carrie Slack. Missing from the picture are squad members Neah Armstrong-Davies and Stacey John, who were away in Germany playing for Wales. Any girls interested in joining the Pembrokeshire Football Coaching Centre should contact Gerry Rigby, Football Development Officer, at County Hall in Haverfordwest on 01437 776379.
