Friday, July 9, and many of the Tenby ladies were playing in the Cardigan Open, but there were still plenty signed up for the Friday Friendly Foursomes.
As usual, it was the men who let us down, and two ladies had to play together.
It had been trying to rain all day, but thankfully we had a dry window for the game and everyone seemed in fine spirits.
Club president Geoff Aston and his partner Annette Flower just missed out on the prizes with a respectable 24 points over 14 holes. Sandra Parker and John Gilman got even closer with 25 points - losing on the back five to John's wife Irene and her partner Nigel Ayers.
The winners on the day, with 28 points, were the popular pair of Gavin Field Thomas and Gill John, who also joined Eiona Aston and Richard Reed in the bag draw.
Many thanks to the Pro Shop for preparing the cards, and to Mervyn Tucker, who returned to do the cards after his magnificent win in the County Seniors against Glamorgan at Morriston.
The next silverware is the Usher Cup on Sunday, July 25. The list is already filling up, so get down and add your name.
The next Friendly Foursomes is on Friday, August 6, when we hope to have a full turnout of men!
