The Tenby and District Gateway Club Christmas Party was held at the Tenby RFC clubhouse in Upper Frog Street last week. The always eagerly-anticipated event was hosted and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tenby.
During the evening, several of the Gateway Club members took their turn in singing their favourite song, accompanied by the group 'Wings over Pembrokeshire'. This proved to be a tremendous success with both the members that were singing and the audience thoroughly enjoying themselves.
'Wings over Pembrokeshire' are a group of four musicians who have come together to play for the Gateway Club. They consist of Steve Young on keyboard, Brenda Martin on drums and Vince and 'Mr Chilli' on guitar. The clear enjoyment etched on everyone's face proved what a tremendous initiative this is.
The Gateway Club members were also delighted to receive a present from Father Christmas, and all were pleased that he had found time in his busy schedule to visit!
Rotary Club president Alan Jones and the Gateway Club were both delighted with the success of the evening and president Alan said that he would like to thank Rotarian Andy Tulley for preparing the food, all at the Gateway Club, leaders and helpers, his fellow Rotarians and all at Tenby RFC clubhouse who had all helped to make the evening such a success - oh, and not forgetting, of course, Father Christmas, whose visit was, as always, such a popular and much enjoyed part of the evening!
