Vandals have struck again at Tenby's Paragon Gardens.

The sitting out areas above the town's Paragon Beach were closed to the public after vandals wrecked seating and removed safety railings.

"In the interests of public safety, there was no way the gardens could have been opened to the public," Tenby Town Council head gardener Kevin Taylor told the Observer.

"Unfortunately, we're getting used to having seats vandalised, but to actually remove safety railings is a grossly stupid and dangerous action which could have had tragic consequences."

Mr. Taylor said that he hoped that repair work would be carried out soon to enable the gardens to be re-opened to the public.
