A full weekend of activities and events for gardeners and their families is being organised by the Pembrokeshire Horticultural Society at Scolton Manor over the first weekend in August. A series of talks and demonstrations by local experts will be given over the next three days on a variety of gardening subjects which will include Propagation and Winter Bulbs, as well as a Gardeners' Question Time to be held on Sunday, August 5. For those who would like to know a little more about the Scolton Manor and its estate, there will also be a talk on its history given by one of the Museum curators.

In addition, Scolton's Country Park will provide a perfect setting for a wide range of stands selling plants and horticultural items from specialist nurseries and suppliers. Unusual varieties of plants which can be difficult to source will be available to tempt even those who believe their gardens to be full and, as usual, expert advice on planting is always available from the nurserymen. For those not so keen on gardening, a full range of other entertainment is planned and refreshments will be available from Scolton's award winning café.

The event will be held from Friday, August 3, to Sunday, August 5, and is open daily from 10 am until 4 pm. Entrance is £3 per adult which includes free access to the Manor house and museum. Entrance for children is free. For any further information, please contact 01834 871887
