On Tuesday, July 31, there will be a meeting of the Gardeners Club... for enthusiasts when the speaker will be Frank Hardy. The title of his talk is 'Creating a Tropical-looking Garden in Britain' - there should be some lively suggestions - we cannot leave it all to global warming! Frank is a Fellow of the Institute of Horticulture and a former vice-principal of Pershore College of Horticulture. He is now a garden design consultant, panellist, lecturer and show judge. Also at the meeting, there will be some interesting news of a grant from 'Awards for All Wales'. As usual, the venue is Rudbaxton Community Hall, Crundale, starting at 2 pm. There is a large car park, plus facilities for disabled people. Light refreshments will be served and, of course, guests will be very welcome. There will be plenty of plants on sale. Last month, 25 members visited Laugharne Castle and restored gardens - they had an excellent tour in reasonable weather! If anyone would like further information about the club and future events, please do not hesitate to contact either the chairman, Jill Foster, on 01437 751241, or the secretary, Sue Paterson- Jones, on 01646 682596.
