Members of Tenby Town Council and the family of the late Mr. Denzil Griffiths gathered last Thursday evening to dedicate one of the town's gardens overlooking the North Beach in memory of the former Mayor.

Also present from Pembrokeshire County Council were Mr. Brian Maddocks, head of municipal services, Mr. Rhodri Jenkins, area municipal services manager, as well as one of Denzil's long-time friends and former South Pembrokeshire District Councillor and former chairman of PCC, Clr. Clive Collins.

On a wet and windy evening, in one of her last engagements as Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter thanked the county council for allowing the town council to dedicate the garden in memory of Denzil, and for all the work they had done to upgrade and enhance it, while Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane said she hoped the garden would be well used and provide a fitting tribute to Denzil.

On behalf of the family, one of Denzil's sons, Darren, thanked Clrs. Rossiter and Lane, the town council and county council for all their work and for honouring his father in this way.

Canon David Jenkins then blessed the garden and dedicated it to Denzil's memory.
