Pancakes perfectly cooked by Billy and Carol (at least to start with until becoming slightly inebriated, Billy that is, not Carol!). And all in a good cause, Cancer Research. Night of December 10 at the Cresselly Arms, Cresswell Quay - where else? Cancer Research benefited on this night from the sum of £320. Always a night to remember each year and always well supported by the locals. Thanks to our genial hosts Maurice and Janet Cole. Kindness in the form of Bob Page, who donated two bottles of Grand Marnier (delicious on the pancakes). Prizes for the raffle were also generously provided. Everyone joined in the fun and eagerly awaited the announcement of the raffle prize winners. Several people there that night won prizes. The first prize, a bottle of Bells whisky, was won by Lyn Richards; the second prize, a set of Christmas candles, was won by Justin Lomas; the third prize, a bottle of port, was won by Bruce McKay; the fourth prize, a bottle of red wine, was won by Ethol; the fifth prize, a tin of biscuits, was won by Hugh Jones; the sixth prize, chocolates, was won by Pat and Diana Thomas; and finally, glass dishes were won by Pearl Thomas. The biscuits and the port didn't make it home, but were appreciated by those remaining in the pub already replete with pancakes! bringing the Christmas pancake night to an end for this year. That's it for now, let us hope that we all enjoy Christmas, but most of all that we have a healthy New Year.
