An event in aid of Cancer Research UK has been organised in Narberth by a group of fundraisers, in the lead up to them taking part in an annual charity 10k run.
Locals Lyndsey Pearce, Kayleigh Morgan, Chloe Pearce and Mel Pallas will be taking part in the Race For Life, on June 22, with a fun day fundraiser lined up in the lead up to the run.
"We are doing this in loving memory of Mavis Norman/Dewaine who passed away in October to this terrible disease, and we're trying to raise as much money as possible for cancer research," explained Lyndsey.
"She was my nan, Marilyn Lidbury's identical twin sister. They were known as the Ginger Twins!"
The Sunday Fun Day has been organised for May 5, at the Dragon Inn, Narberth, with a 3 pm start, and donations at the door.
The day will feature a bowls competition, a bouncy castle, with burgers and refreshments on sale.
Local boys Adi Jones, Codie Clews, Dan Unsworth Karl Jones, Johnny Jolly and Owen Richards have agreed to be waxed for the charity, too, which is being sponsored by Utopia, who are providing the wax and waxers.
The band The Mustangs will also be playing live music to cater to everyone's taste.
A raffle will take place, with prizes kindly donated by - Bluestone, Folly Farm, Heatherton, Andrew Rees, Diablos, Jelly Egg, Sharon Pallas Beauty Room, Creative Cafe, Spar, Costcutters, Nextdoor, Dragon Inn, Bubble, Wisebuys, Angel, and Gigi.
Raffle tickets will be on sale in the Dragon for £1 a square, and there will be collection tins around the town.
"If it wasn't for these local business and the residents of Narberth, this event would not be possible, and everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun in order to raise money for this great cause as cancer affects so many of us," added Lyndsey.
