Sir,
Having been born on Hallowe'en I have some insight into the future. Revealed in my crystal ball this week was a frightening picture of Tenby in five years time (picture attached).
Entering our town from The Norton, a scene of desolation greets the visitor: to the left a state-of-the art Lifeboat Station, its graceful lines still marred by the Shed that stands in front of it; to the left a pile of rubble showing where a Regency-facaded hotel once stood; and between them, the piece de resistance, two grey-faced Eastern Bloc operatives holding up a banner which, in turn, part eclipses the panoramic view that once proclaimed Tenby to be the Jewel in Pembrokeshire's Crown.
Please be kind enough to reserve a copy of this year's Tenby Times Annual for me, so that I can take comfort in the past, as the future now holds no charm for me.
Anne Bowles,
Tenby.
