A couple who first met as teenagers in Tenby, lost touch for 28 years.

They met up again thanks to 'Friends Reunited' and recently returned to Pembrokeshire to get married.

Iona Merriman and Mark Rathjen, who met again three years ago, were married at St. James' Church, Reynalton, and relatives and friends travelled from near and far to help celebrate the occasion.

The bride is the daughter of Mabel and the late Wyndham Merriman, of Reynalton, while the groom is the son of the late Syd and Irene Rathjen, of Winsford, Cheshire.

Accompanied up the aisle by her mother, the bride looked elegant in a Ritva Westenius ivory silk chiffon dress embellished with crystal beads and diamante trim. She carried a hand-tied posy of coral roses decorated with diamante.

Bridesmaid was Ellen Rathjen, groom's daughter, who wore a coral chiffon dress and carried a posy of cream and coral roses.

Best man was Paul Deakin, lifelong friend of the groom.

The ceremony was conducted by Fr. Paul Davies and the organist was Brian Nicholas, bride's cousin.

A reception and evening party was held at Plas Hyfryd, Narberth.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Mauritius, before returning to their home in Loughborough.
