Tenby Leisure Centre is hosting its second Adult Lengths Swimming Competition during the month of October. Having 27 entries last year, it is hoped that more people will enter this year as the swimming pool timetable has been re-structured to cater for more adult only swimming and later evening public swimming.

The rules are quite simple: There are five age groups, 16-24 years, 25-34 years, 35-44 years, 45-60 years and 60-plus years; you must register your name at reception; any lengths completed in public time will be counted; after each visit, log your number of lengths with the receptionist; the swimmer who completes the most lengths during the month of October will win one of the following prizes:

1. Overall winner will receive three months free swim; 2. First in each age group will receive two months free swim; 3. Second in each age group, will receive one month free swim.

Last year's winners, Helen Thomas (55 miles), Mark Reading (1.34 miles), Ceiri Merrison (6.4 miles), Mervyn Palmer (25.5 miles), Jenny Arron (7.5 miles) and Aldo Sterlini (16.4 miles) all challenge you to beat their records!

Entry is free, so why not take up their challenge, take part for fun or perhaps enter for a charity.

Swimming registration dates: Next registration for swimming lessons and toddlers splash, 9 am, October 21.

Toddlers splash is for those aged between three months and three years and will take place from 12-30 - 1 pm every Thursday beginning November 8.
