It's shaping up to be a cracking Christmas in Tenby, with the popular resort lining up four weekends of fun in the run-up to the festive period.

The Yuletide merriment starts on Saturday, November 29, with Tenby's own 'Mr. Entertainment' himself, Laurie Dale, leading carols and Christmas songs in Tudor Square from 4 pm.

Father Christmas will be arriving in the Square, courtesy of Tenby RNLI, at 4.45 pm, ready for the big switch-on of the town's Christmas tree in the grounds of St. Mary's Church at 5 pm.

Shops in the town will also be opening later in the evening that day for a spot of Christmas shopping and there is also an opportunity for local charities and organisations to have stalls in the Square to raise money for their charities.

The following week, on December 6, top local DJ Steve Briers will be in the Square spinning some festive tunes, local shops will be showcasing their wares and there are plans in hand to hold the town's very own 'X-mas Factor'-style talent competition.

There will be plenty of festive fare at the Chamber of Trade's Christmas Market in the town centre on December 13, while Tenby's Retained Firefighters will also be hosting a Christmas market in the Fire Station on South Parade.

The evening rounds off with the Chamber of Trade's Children's Christmas Party in the De Valance where Matt the Magician will be conjuring up some seasonal sorcery.

Father Christmas will also be in residence at his grotto in the De Valence Pavilion during the day.

The ever-popular Tenby Ladies Circle Santa Run through the streets of the town takes place the following day, on December 14, setting off from the grounds of St. Mary's Church at 12 noon.

DJ Steve Briers returns to the square with his festive tunes on December 20 when the results of the local schools Christmas poster competition, sponsored by Oakwood, will be announced.

There will also be a festive market in the De Valence and Father Christmas will again take time out of his busy schedule to visit his grotto in the De Valence.
