Four applicants have put their names forward to be considered for co-option on to Tenby Town Council. However, before a decision is made, the candidates are to be invited to a meeting to address the council.
Letters from the applicants were brought before the council at their meeting on Tuesday night, but members felt that it was only fair that the applicants were given a chance to introduce themselves to the chamber in person.
"I think that it's only fair and open to give the applicants an informal invitation to come and talk to us, as some of us members may not be familiar with the candidates just from reading their letters," said Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans.
The four who have put their names forward for consideration to replace former councillor Mrs. Maureen Ward, who resigned in November of last year, are John Pattison-Dick of North Cliff; David Stock, of Penally; Anthony Mark Brown, of Knowling Mead; and Kerri Durham, also of Knowling Mead, who has previously sat on the town council.
The applicants have been invited to attend the next meeting of the council on Tuesday evening.
