Refurbishment of Tenby's historic Dyster Memorial Fountain seems to be nearing completion, the town clerk revealed this week.

Specialists Abbey Masonry and Restoration, of Cross Hands, currently have the fountain and have almost restored the one-time Tudor Square landmark to its former glory.

However, it appears that one or two pieces of the jigsaw are still in Tenby, clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told the town council at their meeting on Tuesday night.

"Mr. Kleinberg, who is restoring the Dyster, has done a superb job, but there are still a few pieces of the base missing, which he needs to pick up from Tenby, but he's done a fabulous job with what he's got," explained Mr. Davies.

It is believed that the fountain will be restored to the centre of the town as part of Pembrokeshire County Council's plans for the enhancement of Tudor Square.
