Requests have been made by some former pupils to visit the old primary school in Narberth before the site is redeveloped.

"I think this is a wonderful idea as so many of us have such happy memories of our school days," said County Councillor Wynne Evans.

"I will formally request permission from the council to arrange this and I think sometime first week of August would be most suitable," he continued.

"I had hoped to make some announcement on the future of the site, but it will be a few more weeks before this can be done."

He added: "The food festival held last weekend in September will be the last event to be held in the old playground."
