Volunteers who work in association with junior football sides in Tenby have been praised by local councillors for their teamwork.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown said that the De Valence had recently hosted a successful presentation evening for Tenby Junior Football Association.

“Talk about volunteers who give a bit extra every week, these coaches only have about five or six weeks off and organise the fundraising for the teams too,” she told her colleagues.

“It was an absolutely fabulous night, and well done to the coaches, parents and players, and good luck for next season,” added Clr. Mrs. Brown.

“It’s great that we were able to support an event like that at the De Valence, and praise should be given to those volunteers for the amount of time they give up for the football teams,” remarked the Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall.
