Sir, I am writing a pleasant memory of Tenby at the end of WW2 when I was posted to Tenby with a Royal Signals Unit. I was among the first arrivals, and set up a training school for R. Sigs. I remember the sights and the people fondly. None of us were A1, but were survivors of the opening of the battle for Normandy. I landed on D Day at a very early hour and lasted a week, before being returned to Blighty. Tenby was part of our 'hardening-up' process after a year in hospital. I very much enjoyed my stay in Tenby and am pleased to see that there is a continuing progress. I am now resident in Western Australia, and have been since 1958, but will always remember the evening just sitting and admiring the view of the beach and the island just offshore -peaceful and so healing after some of the worst horrors of WW2. To those who remember when the Royal Signals came amongst you, I would say a very heartfelt 'thankyou' for the peace I found among you. Bill Hoare,
