Members of HM Coastguard South Pembs. sector, both past and present, together with representatives from the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Sub Centre at Milford Haven, family and friends, attended a special party at the Giltar Hotel, Tenby, recently, to mark the retirement of Tenby's Station Officer, Derek Hodgson.
Derek, a member of the auxiliary service since 1971, bade a fond farewell to the rescue service earlier this year.
During the evening, tribute was paid to Derek's dedication and hard work with the coastguard, and various presentations were made to him in recognition of his long service, including a bar for his long service medal presented by Peter Morris, regional inspector.
