Members of the Salvation Army in Tenby are bidding a farewell to their captain this week as Ray Hobbins (above) and his wife, Eileen, leave the town to take up a posting in Aberystwyth.
"We have very much enjoyed our time in Tenby and we have made some very good friends," said Cpt. Hobbins, who moved to the resort from Bargoed 11 years ago.
"We have enjoyed working with the other churches and everyone has always been very supportive in many many ways," he continued.
"We will miss the scenery of south Pembrokeshire and all our friends here, but we are looking forward to our new appointment and the challenges it holds.
"I have been learning Welsh for the past six years and I am looking forward to speaking some Welsh in my new post."
As well as his commitments with the Salvational Army, Cpt. Hobbins has been involved with local schools and has been chaplain to Tenby Sea Cadets for the past six years.
When he moves to Aberystwyth, Cpt. Hobbins will become District Chaplain of the West Wales Sea Cadets.
Taking over from Cpt. Hobbins will be Mark Lewis, who will be coming to Tenby on his first appointment from the Salvation Army Training College at Denmark Hill, London.
