This week sees the launch of an exciting new summer show at Folly Farm, on the theme of recycling and caring for the environment.

The spectacular 'Jugglestruck Green Show' incorporates impressive juggling acts, puppets, friendly Folly Farm characters and magic that defies belief! At the same time, it teaches children different ways of being environmentally friendly.

The show was created by Luke and Lucy Jugglestruck, well known in Pembrokeshire for their outstanding juggling skills. Luke describes the show as a fun way of guiding people into doing things properly.

He said: "We've concentrated on making it fun. It uses magic, juggling and more recycled cardboard boxes than you can shake a stick at, to promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle. It's about recycling for all the family and it shows how everyone can be involved. Recycling should be a part of family life."

The Jugglestruck Green Show, to be hosted in the Follies Theatre, formerly from the Millennium Dome, forms part of Folly Farm's wider conservation and education strategy. The strategy has been planned in accordance with the Secretary of State's Standards for Modern Zoo Practice and incorporates a greener approach to running the park as well as proactive conservation such as breeding endangered species and setting land aside for wildlife. Education is also high on the agenda, with more educational materials and events being created for visitors all the time.

Folly Farm place great importance on their ambitious plans for future environmental improvements as well as their achievements so far. Last week the farm attraction picked up a Green Dragon award for its environmental standards.

According to Luke: "The Jugglestruck Green Show is the first show in Folly Farm that has an important theme, and as Folly Farm is getting more environmentally conscious, it fits in really well."
