Sir, On August 20, I had the great pleasure of attending a service at St. Mary's Church, Tenby. During this special service, donations were made to three local schools and to Wales Air Ambulance from the proceeds of the successful Flower Festival. May I take this opportunity to thank the Rev. Canon David Jenkins, the churchwardens and all who made this possible. The magnificent donation of £1,000 will pay for one golden hour, ensuring that the rapid treatment needed in the first hour after an accident will be provided and give a trauma patient an 80 per cent chance of life. We are a very new charity, only five-years-old, and our pilots and paramedics are saving lives every day. Our helicopter is obviously busier in the main tourist season. Most people are aware of its value and some have seen it in action and observed the professionalism of the crew.
