HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR FITNESS GOALS

Work out with a partner: Training with someone else will increase your motivation, make training more enjoyable, encourage you to train harder, cut the chances of you skipping workouts and help you to stick to your training programme. Choose someone with similar goals to your own, but not necessarily the same ability.

Reward yourself: Decide how you will reward yourself when you have reached your goal - new training gear, a meal out, a new pair of sunglasses - something that will help to keep you focused and give you an incentive to keep on track.

Take a photo: Photographs taken before you start a programme and then at intervals - say every three weeks - will help to give you feedback on your progress.

Keep track of your progress: Buy a notebook to record your progress. Training and nutrition diaries can be great motivators during workouts. Look back over your notes at the end of each week.

Get professional advice: If you do not have a training partner or you need extra motivation, consider using a personal trainer on an occasional or regular basis. They can make sure that you are on track with your goals and that you don't skip any workouts, give you advice on a whole range of subjects and help you achieve more.
