LOCAL farmer Richard Twose has been elected to the board of First Milk as farmer director.
Richard was elected by his fellow farmer representatives on November 4 and he will serve for a three-year term.
The newly-appointed board member, farms near Whitlind in a family partnership where the family milk 400 pedigree cows on 500 acres.
Richard has been a First Milk local representative since 2001, representing farmer members in the north Carmarthenshire area. He is also past secretary and chairman of the South Wales Holstein Club.
Richard Greenhalgh, chairman of First Milk, commented:
"Following an election by our local representative group, Richard Twose will join the board as farmer director. Richard will have responsibility for representing the interests of our farmer members and play an active role in reshaping the business in response to challenging market conditions to ensure that First Milk is well positioned to capitalise on potential market opportunities."
