CARDIGAN 12 pts. TENBY UNITED 29

The Seasiders carried on their good form after last week's cup victory, with their first league win of the season away to fellow division three west strugglers Cardigan. Fly-half Scott McLaughlin gave Tenby the lead with an accurate penalty, and soon afterwards converted a try from number eight Justin Richards, who scored under the posts. The Cardies responded with a try from flanker Colin Davies, only to see the visitors increase their lead before the break, with winger Dan Shooter crossing for a try and McLaughlin adding the conversion. Midway through the second half, Tenby winger Dai Merrick scored his side's third try, with the fourth soon following when replacement Sion Brace intercepted a pass to run in from the halfway line and touchdown under the posts, to give McLaughlin an easy conversion. Cardigan scored the final points of the game when Alun Williams bagged a try from a well-worked move, going on to convert as well, but it was too little too late for the home side. Tenby United team and replacements: Alex Watt, Dai Merrick, Andre Davids (Sion Brace), Paul Luger, Dan Shooter, Scott McLaughlin, Anthony Davies, Simon Griffiths, Mark Lewis, Mark Badham, Paul Broaders, Chris James (Gareth Edwards), Chris Williams, Nicky Allen, Justin Richards (Anthony Griffiths).
