Tenby firefighters have made a request to the town council to use the De Valence building for a training exercise.
The town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told councillors at their meeting on Tuesday night that the fire crew had said that the facility would make a good venue as practice for a situation that would require them to use their breathing apparatus.
"There would be no smoke or anything like that, they would just lay some lines down and they've said that it would be a useful exercise for the crew in light of what happened at the Gatehouse," said Mr. Davies.
Clr. Mrs. Trisha Putwain said that she had no problem with the firefighters using the facility, as long as it didn't affect the council's rates charge on the building, while Clr. Trevor Hallett said that he didn't think the county council would charge extra rates for what was a health and safety exercise for the fire authority.
