Fundraisers aiming to raise £20,000 in the hope of getting a Tenby mother who has recurrent cervical cancer, potentially life saving stereotactic radiotherapy, are over halfway to their target, it was revealed this week.

Various organised events by family and friends of 27-year-old Ruth White and donations made by organisations have seen the fundraising for 'A Chance For Ruth' reach over £10,000.

This week, the trust fund received a further boost when funds raised by Tenby firefighters, saw a donation of £500 presented to Ruth and her mother.

A weekly car boot sale has now also been organised to take place at Manorbier football field to raise money for the cause, taking place every Saturday throughout the summer holidays.

Cars can turn up from 6 am, with fees of £5 for a car or £7 for vans and trailers.

The boot sale will open at 8.30, and there will be refreshments available, too, along with an ice cream van at the venue.
