Council cut backs that have led to poor standards of grass being cut back in Tenby need to be addressed the town’s Deputy Mayor has stated.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown said that as Pembrokeshire County Council had not retained the grass cutting staff as part of their ground maintenance team, it was showing around the resort with some ‘shocking’ examples of grass cutting in certain areas.
“We know seem to have two inexperiences grass cutting people - and using Augustus Place as an example, if anything flowers, they have obviously been told not to cut it down, but we now have weeds not being cut too!” she said.
“Using the area outside Tyssul Court as another example of a shrubbed area they have been told not to cut - but when it grows it is up to here. They either have to get rid of the shrubs or cut them more frequently.
“I’d request that whoever is in charge of them comes down to see the results, as they are shocking.
“They might be getting more used to it now, but the quality is very poor. I understand the county council has cutbacks, but this is getting ridiculous now,” she added.
