Film-on-Sunday’s 2015 season continues with Ida, showing this Sunday, November 29, at 7.30 pm in the Queen’s Hall, Narberth.

Ida is set in 1960s Poland. Anna has been brought up in a convent where she has taken the decision to become a nun herself. Before she takes her final vows, the Mother Superior insists that Anna meets her sole surviving relative.

Her aunt inhabits a world that is very different from the calm seclusion of the convent and together they discover the remarkable, dark history of Anna’s family dating back to the Nazi occupation.

Ida was the winner of the best foreign language film at the 2014 Oscars.

Doors open at 7 pm for you to enjoy homemade puddings, tea and coffee with wine and beer available from the bar.

A selection of DVDs from the Film-on-Sunday extensive library are available for two-week rental periods free of charge.

The Queen’s Hall is equipped with the very latest DVD projection equipment and there is comfortable tiered seating for the perfect viewing experience.

Film-on-Sunday’s 2015/2016 season of films includes an eclectic mix of English speaking and foreign language films being shown at the Queen’s Hall fortnightly through March 2016.

The next film showing on Sunday, December 13, will be Boyhood, Richard Linklater’s breakthrough coming-of-age movie, filmed over 12 years with the same cast.
