Manorbier Castle has been transported back in time nearly 70 years this week as it takes a starring role in a new feature film, 'I Captured the Castle', for the BBC Film Division.
Based on the novel of the same name by 101 Dalmatians author Dodie Smith, 'I Captured the Castle' is a romantic comedy about an impoverished family living in a ruined castle in the 1930s whose daughters fall in love with the two young American men who inherit their estate.
The historic castle has been a hive of activity all week after the film's production company, Trademark Films, began shooting on Monday.
They are expected to remain on site for two weeks before moving on to locations in the Isle of Man and London.
Directed by Tim Fywell, the film stars Bill Nighy (Lucky Break), Tara Fitzgerald, Romola Garai and Rose Byrne, with Henry Thomas (ET) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Marc Blucas as the two Americans.
