The normally creamy-smooth daily operation of transporting the thousands of gallons of mile from outlying farms to the creameries of West Wales came to a stop - reason was a bottleneck created by a strike of drivers who were later supported by other volunteers in the plants.

Mr. Wilfred Harrison who received the MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List became Tenby’s 162nd freeman.
Lord Merthyr, president of the Friends of Tenby, presented the key of Brother Thomas Memorial Gardens to the Mayor, Clr. MB Eastlake at the Civic Week opening of the garden.
Caldey Island’s Abbot, Father Dom James Wicksteed, formally opening the garden expressed the hope that the garden would be yet a further link between the towns people of Tenby and the Caldey community.
