Shock announcement by the Liberals that they were to contest Pembrokeshire in the next election meant that there could well be five candidates in the field. Barister and former bomber pilot, Mr. Alan Coulthard, who polled 9,600 votes in 1964, was to fight again for the Liberals.
If a stand was not made about Tenby’s rising rates then the town would become a place in which it was too expensive to live. Clr. D. Colwyn Williams gave the warning at a meeting of the borough council’s general purposes committee when he moved a reduction of 2d in the proposed local rate of 5s 11d in the pound.
