From the august council chamber of Tenby’s Guildhall came a warning to the dogs of the town: Your days of freedom are limited. No longer will you be able to chase yelping and barking along the streets, dodging and leaping among shoppers. A curb was to be put on all that freedom - in the shape of a lead. At a meeting of the council’s general purposes committee, it was decided by an overwhelming majority to apply for an order under the Road Traffic Act, requiring that dogs must be kept on leads when on certain designated roads.
