The true spirit of Christmas was illustrated by children of Heywood Lane Infants School at their annual Christmas Concert.
Highlight of the year for Tenby’s senior citizens was the annual Christmas party held at the Royal Gate House Hotel. Over 200 sat down to a traditional Christmas dinner and afterwards enjoyed a miscellaneous programme before joining in a carol service.
A splendid service commemorated the reopening of Tabernacle Congregational Church, Narberth, following £2,000 renovations.
Santa Claus arrived at Narberth and was greeted by delighted children of the town. Following his visit, members and friends of the Chamber of Trade and the Rotary Club toured the town and district singing carols.
Wyn Calvin, the Narberth-born comedian, was to give a light-hearted start to Christmas Day on Radio 4 from Wales. ‘Christmas then and now’ was the theme of ‘Calvin’s Crackers’ which was to be broadcast.
